Using Cron / Crontab on my account ...

Cron or Crontab (they are related in that one cannot exist without the other).

Cron: The daemon that runs specific functions automatically at specified intervals.
Crontab:    The actual program that loads your schedule file into the cron daemons "data bank".
Uses: Cron can be used to run a specific program or set of programs, to perform desired functions on your web site.  For example, some users have been known to use it for automatically regenerating specific pages on there site, for news articles, etc...
Use of cron is not automatically enabled on your account, and it is only setup upon request.  Excessive us of cron could result in your losing the privilege of its use and/or removal from our servers.
